The journey of Sisters Plant Shop began with a shared passion for greenery and a dream to bring the community together through plants.
The Seed of an Idea
Sisters Elizabeth Duran and Christina, lifelong Santa Barbara residents, founded the shop to share their love for plants. Their inspiration came from childhood memories of gardening with their family and a desire to create a welcoming local hub for plant enthusiasts.
Roots in the Community
In 2021, they opened the doors at 3040 State Street, transforming a cozy space into a brick-and-mortar sanctuary. From the start, their mission was clear: provide quality plants, expert care advice, and a personal touch that only a family-run business can offer.
Growing Together
Today, Sisters Plant Shop is more than a store—it's a gathering place. Elizabeth Duran
Co-owner & Plant Expert
Elizabeth is our resident green thumb. Her passion for plants started in her grandmother's garden and grew into a lifelong expertise. She personally selects every plant that comes into our shop, ensuring it's healthy and perfect for Santa Barbara's unique climate. When she's not talking soil pH or propagation, you'll find her tending to her collection of rare monsteras.

"For most houseplants in our coastal climate, it's better to underwater than overwater. When in doubt, let the soil dry out an inch down."
Christina
Co-owner & Operations Manager
Christina makes sure everything runs smoothly, from the welcoming atmosphere in our shop to finding the perfect decorative pot for your new plant. Her background in customer service means every visit feels personal. She believes a plant shop should be a community space where everyone, from beginners to experts, feels at home.
